Joy is the soul of movement – Pina Bausch
Dance
In dance we are invited to let our vitality flow freely. It makes us fully alive and awake. By entering fully into dancing we fall silent while moving.
During dance we can experience unity. In a way you are carried by the music and your dancing.
The wave is no longer just a wave but it dissolves into the infinite wisdom and depth of the ocean. Surrender to dance brings you into contact with the immutable and unchangeable inside yourself: your essence. You take that vital energy inside to reside in Beingness even deeper. Here dance becomes meditation.
In dance we can give expression to what lives inside of us. Frozen energy can flow again. But therein also lies a trap. Sometimes we only want to dance to get rid of our restlessness: then it becomes a discharge of your energy. Discharging is not transforming. Afterwards the vessel just fills up again with restlessness and tension, and nothing has truly changed. In meditation we are deepening our awareness. We learn to be without distraction. To meet our self in the deepest silence and intimacy. This can also contain a trap. When we are afraid of contact, sitting on a meditation cushion can be a way to avoid it. When these two meet, they strengthen each other’s power. Dance and meditation are like two wings enabling you to fly so that you can live life in her totality.
